Evolving Scapes is an embodied media installation that seeks to establish an audiovisual representation of human social interaction present within an environment.

Human behavioural interaction is the core aspect of the Evolving Scapes concept. This is because increased social interaction is the key cause of growth and evolution within the modern creative economy. By visually illustrating the changing effect human interaction has on an environment through the evolution of a simulated environment, a parallel can be distinguished.

The site proposed to perform Evolving Scapes is situated within the Creative Industries Precinct in a location that is conducive to an ever-changing mix of social interaction. The site, situated in the Level 3 lobby of The Terrace, is a space that often harbours varied levels of human congregation, transit and desertion making it an ideal space to ensure the effectiveness of Evolving Scapes.

This varied level of social presence and interaction is essential due to the behavioural mechanics of Evolving Scapes. The nature of the installation requires human interaction to ensure a visual growth, represented by the addition of elements within a scene, which is then projected onto the walls of the space.
